Smell coming from tank

Ok. Thanks for the responses. Once the diatoms burn themselves out, hopefully the smell goes away.
That is me right now. Newer tank with diatom bloom and it has a ripe smell to it.

It's algae that is out of the water. When it's under water you don't smell anything, but when it gets out of water, you can really smell it. So you are lowering the water level and exposing algae to air most likely.
This sounds right on! The only other unusual smell I have around my reef tank is when my cat farts. Not sure if he's excited or nervous around all the fish. lol
