Yeah, I’m on MASC, but it’s just so quiet on there haha

I’m over in Anthem, so we’re not far, once covid is over, would be great to check your setup out.
I am also on there. Yes it is pretty quiet but still nice to have!

No that isn’t far at all. Once this is over, you can definitely come check the setup out. I would also like to see your setup! moved here 8 months before covid so I have not been able to see anyone’s setup locally expect Jacob’s which is amazing.

hello sir..
how long you quarantine your coral? is it to get rid of ich, velvet or pest ?
and maybe if you can share your method and equipment for coral QT?
That question is totally loaded...
Depends on the coral, coral base, origination, purchase place. and MOST of all willingness in regards risk.
The purpose is for fish diseases yes, as well as coral pests.
I have only SPS in my tank.. So in general I do the following:
1) Inspection before purchase
2) Acclimate to Coral QT tank ( basically same water from DT, but not directly plumbed together)
2) Dip the coral in CoralRX
3) Remove all plus, discs, bases, dead areas, etc no matter what. Essentially creating a fresh cut with only living tissue.
4) Set in QT Tank for a few hours. Observe for pests or anything I missed.
5) Some fresh cut go into the DT the next day or not for 76 days depends on what I see and where it came from. This is under my willingness of risk for each coral. I am having a brain fart currently and do not remember if fish diseases can a encyst on living acropora tissue.

The process would be very different for LPS and softies: Dip, inspect, dip, inspect, wait 76 days minimal to no expectations.

My coral QT setup:
Heater
Radion XR15 Gen 4 pro
return pump
powerhead
filter sponge
carbon
one piece of live rock
Auto water change system from DT

Congratulations on the 365 Award.

How is the algae outbreak in the DT? I only saw you mention urchins. What else do you have for a CUC?

Thank you!

It is becoming under control as each day passes. I have a few snails, one serpent star, and hermits. Mainly rely on the urchins and fish for handling any algae's. Just takes time to win. Not worth swinging all the nutrient parameters, mine are low enough to begin with and prefer to keep the corals colored and healthy versus in a extreme low nutrient environment. Plan is to add in a rabbitfish of some kind to round off the utility fish squad.

Anything new happening in your equipment room?
I haven't really changed much in the past two months in the Equipment room per say. I want to replace my 55gallon QT tank with two 30 gallon fish QT tanks, but have a 2 week trip planned at the end of the month. So the big changes will be after that:
1) Use humidity sensor to control my exhaust fan.
2) Want to add a desktop NPS tank with an Angler (20 ish gallons)
