Do you or a lfs nearby have a TDS meter? Also poly pads are helpful in keeping livestock alive when an unknown contaminate is in play.

Ok so like I said yesterday I bought two snails and a chocolate chip starfish. They are still alive ( but the starfish is going back I dint know they weren't good for corals. And I bought two large turbo snails so we shall see how it goes

So what would be the safest way to lower that? It's from a RO/DI filter ( well water)

I had a small snail die off a couple months ago. I believe I finally figured out my mag was too high which isn't good for some snails. I first noticed my Cal Alk were very high, so I bought a refractometer to replace my hydrometer. I was over adding salt mix because the hydro was so far off, which made the cal, alk and mag raise.

Not adding supplements at this time. I'm using a BRS 6 stage filter and that's it. Other having pukani dry rock from BRS and live rock and 60 lbs of Fiji pink that's it

Are you mixing your own saltwater? If you are not adding anything then I dont know how those levels are that high unless you are mixing in more salt mix than needed, which was my downfall. My old hydrometer always read 1.022 with just half cup of salt per gallon but I was adding more salt to get to 1.025, before I knew it my levels were sky high.

I had a refractometer that had been calibrated wrong but it has since been recalibrate do both by a zero solution and a 1.026 solution. Hydrometer read right on the money

The mag level could cause issues with snails but not usually crabs found that out after trying to get rid of bryopsis. My alk runs higher than it should as well but as long as I acclimate things they do fine. We're you able to test the tds of your ro to make sure it was working right?

1. 73
2. 00
3. 07
I actually could not understand what was what
I'm doing another parameter test right now and will post

Do you have a pic or link to the type of tds meter so we can try to figure out its readings? Wish I lived closer I would just bring you some water I know is fine. Does your LFS sell poly pads? They will remove almost any contaminate and also turn colors to cue you in to what is wrong.

Ok then your source water coming out of ro is fine. It is the 0. Have all these snails come from the same lfs?
