I've seen it discussed and worried about it myself when moving my mandarin into copper. How to get enough pods living and breeding to sustain sensitive fish.

I threw together this solution as a test and 6 weeks later, can say it worked.

Acrylic fish trap filled with as much aquarium netting as I had on hand. Seeded a small bottle of pods at the beginning and again at day 15. There are so many pods living and breeding in there all my fish have found this to be the buffet.

Mandarin has gained weight in the hospital tank.

Hope this helps/works for others.
