Spectrum Change = Burnt Tips?

Two weeks ago I swapped out my 3 Kessil 360WE's for 3 XR30 G4 Pro's. With the Kessils I had six 80Watt T5's, removed 2 of them to fit the radions. Bulbs are now B+/C+/Radions/Act/B+

I set them to AB+ and 40% intenisty, this gave me just about the same level of par, maybe 5-10 higher in a few areas. Luckily, most of my "prized" sticks are fine, with the exception of a Jackson Rainbow....tbd on that one, PE is strong but skin is peeling. Lost an ORA piece and Spath within 30 hours, Hawkins Echinata/Green slimer/Cali Tort/Blue Tenius/Bonsai got some burns. Slimer looks the worst...All parameters were rock solid, my alk actually dropped .1 dKH from adding sticks but there were no swings what so ever.

At first I thought I fried these sticks because of how powerful these are, but then I thought, could it be caused from the spectrum change. Going from white/blue with the kessils to the whole shabang provided by the radions.

Thoughts?

Parameters:
SG - 1.026
Temp - 76.6-77 over 24hrs
PH - 8.05-8.26 over 24hrs
dKH - 7.5
Calc - 420
Mag - 1500
No3 - Was 8ppm but has dropped to 4ppm over the past month, upped to 4 cubes now (was 3)
Po4 - 0.01-0.02

You measured the par and it was almost the same?

Yes, no more than a 10 par increase in any of the locations of the corals that experienced burning

I would get the Radions way down... like 10% and start from there. The spectrum is totally different (good and bad) and there is more to coral burn than just quantity (PAR), but quality also plays a role.

For now, just let the T5s do the heavy lifting until everything settles in and then phase in the Radions slowly until you have the fill that you are looking for.
