AEF ?

Sincerely Lasse
no, i have AEFW before, i know what they do. this is not it, too fast and all sps all at once.
Have you considered lose dose antibiotic treatment, @AquaBiomics’s protocol?
no, is there a reason to do that? if so please explain.
The only thing jumping out at me is possibly the RODI. 1 of the times I had acros dying I had Chloramines blasting through my carbon blocks. I got one of the $80 Hach kits and figured out I had to change out carbon block #1 every 2 months or chloramine got though. This was when my tank was a 40 breeder and I was changing 5g a week! You are free to borrow the Hach kit btw.

What carbon blocks are you using and how often are they changed?
i use the universal block from BRS, that should take care of any chloramines, yes, if possible i would love to borrow that to see if that is the cause. i only change carbon once every 6 months.

A dead rock restart in September is the most likely, most significant factor. Very difficult to develop a stable microbiome in <6 months. Sure, there could be some other secondary issue, but you have already covered a lot of the bases according to this thread.

Your system is still a microorganism battlefield, with constantly shifting battlefronts and new contestants. Unlike with base and trace elements, it is hard to really measure microbiome "maturity", with the possible exception of AquaBiomics testing.

If your corals are slowing losing tissue, and it’s not a water quality issue (or even if it is) a pathogen could easily be the culprit (bacterial or viral). Low dose antibiotic treatments have cured several ‘mysterious illnesses’ IME.

i buy that, then there is nothing i can do at this point. there isnt any set rule out there for every aquarium. the aquabimics testing what will that do?

Where is your ALK? I do not find that number.

Also, do you know your PAR values? Let's start there...

I have run tanks at high at12 DKH and then low around 7.5. I know what has worked and failed for me in the past. So I will reply based on what you tell us.

alk is about 8, it's in my OP.
par is about 300 at the top of the rock 10" under water. right now it's sitting around 210 due to acclimation mode with add new led fixtures to give me better coverage. use apogee 510 to do the measuring.

Perfect! No issues with those at all. So here is my final question...what do you feed your fish? Dry or frozen?

always frozen, its mixed of Hikari mysis, spirulina brine shrimp and selcon. the recent batch with calanus, that's after the issue started.

coral, i do AB+ 3x a week and reef roid on the weekend.

Are you using Tropic Marin salt by any chance? BRS had a recall on it...
