Hi guys, title says it all. Here's what it looks like. I have some sort of acro, was growing very well and coloring up to be awesome, like a ora chips polyps but a better color, and i found something killing it. I looked at it and it has like a worm tube coming from the rock its on, through the rock onto the coral. The coral part the tube is on is like a slime now. Must be where the worm is feeding. Any thoughts, here's the best pics i could get. I shot it with a turkey baster and the polyps receded and shows me the part getting killed. What are your thoughts? My thought is to pull the coral and toss it, pull the smaller rock the coral is mounted on and pull the big rock and dry it out, not sure what else to do. What a crappy thing to find. Think its an eunicid?

Yea, just spent the last hour and a half pulling the rocks and fragging the coral. Its dead whatever it was. I'd guess some sort of worm like a eunicid. I'll find out tomorrow when i crack that rock into pieces. The mysterious click for the last 4.5yrs was in there too : () I guess i'll find out what that was as well. Sometimes this hobby is pretty annoying.

WOW! Glad you got that out Luke. I think you did the smart thing by removing the entire rock. From what I read in the past, you have to get every piece out. I'm curious to see what the clicking sound was also. I had a mantis hitch hiker when I first got into the hobby many years back, but it made more of a loud crack like a 22 cal.

I found 3 different types of worms, maybe 4 when i destroyed the rock today. Two of them looked like bristles but one looked diff and it was right by that worm tube. It was attached to the rock with its tail. It wasn't to large, pry 2" but hopefully that was the one doing the munching. The good thing is i got two frags off the coral before it was completely killed.
