I just got my new aquarium stand and I want to do some nice lighting for it, I was thinking about getting the Leds that come in a role, is that a good idea? I want to make sure the lighting is secure, right now the stand is empty, so this will be the first thing I do. Anything thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

That's what I've done in the past and is on the to do list now. I was going to get a roll with remote and several colors to switch to

I just did this exact thing to my stand for my Waterbox 20. I went on Amazon and purchased an led kit for a tv and it worked out great. The kit came with a remote so I have a bunch of color and brightness options as well. I attached them to the inside of the cutout in my stand and it illuminates the inside and makes the stand glow a bit. Sorry I dont have better pictures right now.

My son has the same thing. @Scurvy 's fault. His work with Alexa too (in case the remote is too exhausting)

I've been thinking of doing this to my stand. The tank is in the basement and the lighting in that corner isn't the brightest, so it would make it easier to see cords during maintenance.

Thanks, which lights are you considering?

No brand in particular. Honestly they're usually just outdoor party type lights with a vinyl tubing over them nothing fancy. I just run them around the inside edge with some coax type cable hangers.

Ok I was thinking about the leds that come in a role. They lay flat.

I tried those but the ones I used corroded. They really need be waterproof or have a protective coating from what I've seen.
