Starfish and Blue hippo

Wanted to see if this starfish injury is recoverable and wether its the disease where they essentially fall apart, i only noticed a couple days ago and i dont think its got any worse but theres also some ‘wear’ on his front, my blue hippo seems to be healthy but just wanted to check if this was normal, he has a sort of brown colouration just under his eye but otherwise looks healthy under a white light, ill post two photos, one where you can see the brown slightly and one under a white light.

The discoloration on the hepatus tang is
pretty common. They often develop that as they age. The only thing odd about your fish is that it seems to only be developing on the fish’s left side.

That species of starfish typically doesn’t do well in aquariums. How long have you had this one? I typically see them start to fall apart after a few months.

it is on both sides, one picture is in white light but i made the mistake of not picturing the same side! thanks for clearing that up, ive also had my star for about 2 months, shame they dont last long!
