Hi everyone. I have some live rock in QT and found this guy in there. I'm assuming he's just a regular old reef safe brittle star. I've read some of these guys can be nasty though, so would like some confirmation.
Thanks!

Another ID please guys. I feel after this long in the hobby I should know these without needing a second opinion lol. I guess my paranoia is getting the best of me.
Is this a regular bristle worm worth keeping? I have quite a few in there and they pack a nasty sting! Ouch!

Bristle or fire worm of some kind. They just eat detritus but I toss them as you probably have more and like you I get a nasty sting when I touch them when moving things around in my tank. I guess some people are more allergic than others? I'm one of them I've had some nasty swelling before. I always wear latex gloves now when I work in the tank.

Looks like a regular bristle. I think there good. But some might argue that. They can get gigantic and maybe cause issue. But I think its rare. Just helpful cleaners to me.

Fireworms are bad. You don't want those. But I don't think that is one
