I see no issue with all you mentioned however the clowns will become territorial and be a threat to the firefish goby

I’d suggest substituting the firefish with a tailspot blenny, huge personality with a small bio load and how about those eyelashes.

That’s my plan for my 15g. Pair of clowns and a Tailspot if I can find one. What are you using for filtration. 3 fish in a 10 is doable but must stay in top of water changes and plenty of live rock and some ceramic bio media is a good idea too.

I LOVE tail spots! I always keep one in my tank no matter how big it is!

You will need a clean up crew on top as well. 10 gallon wont take much so keep in mind to not overdue your clean up crew, few smaller snails handful of hermits, for sand you could do a couple nassarius.

Issue with tail spots is I’m worried they’ll knock over rocks by constantly moving the sand

Tail spots are typically just like any other blenny and rest on rocks while checking out the tank. They are algae eaters so they will pick at the rock all day, but only get like 2.5"-3" max so no worries about knocking anything over or moving sand.

You are totally thinking of a different fish. Some people say I’m a tailspot fanatic but that’s ridiculous!

I have an IM Nuvo 10 with BTAs and RFAs, a full CuC (snails, hermits, Emerald Crab, etc), a pair of Showflake Clowns and a little Candy Cane Pistol Shrimp. The pistol originally had a goby buddy (Hi-fin Red-banded Goby), but he jumped. I was going to try adding another, but the Clowns have become pretty territorial, and I don't want to risk it.

It's a 10g AiO tank. Just water flow, sand and rocks.

If you put the rocks in first, then sand, the shrimp and gobies can't knock it over by digging under it.
