Glad to see you back. I started tending to my tank again. Been a rough end of 2024, nevertheless glad to get my hands wet.

As for going off grid, that should be a breeze... I recently installed solar at my house (myself) and it was a fraction of the cost. Dropped my power bill from $400 to around $150 ish a month. Let me know if you need some help, I have an account at the local warehouse.

Just dosed a weird cocktail to the system, including the AF Life Source mud, calcium carbonate, FM Rebiotic, and high grade organic Spirulina powder(my dietary supp). Hopefully I don't kill these acros!

Haven’t seen anyone do this besides myself. After aquabiomics test results I have read on the AF life source(humblefish thread) I decided to create a coral snow with AF life source. In an attempt to beat some cyano and add some more diversity. Only on dose #2 but have to say I am loving what I am seeing. Cyano is disappearing. SPS are thriving too. Cheers

System is nearly 3 months, finding sweet spots in 100/1. Wanted to show that my old System was running 60ppm for N03, and .30ppm for P04. Here is my current readings...

Corals don't look pale either ;)

At the present moment, I do not use Spirulina, mainly because it's in the benepets food, which I dose a 1/4 teaspoon twice per week. One of the times, I use a 1/4 teaspoon of Rebiotic from FM. I use Calcium Carbonate with Zeovit ZeoBak at 2 drops to 1/2 teaspoon of Calcium Carbonate, and dose that as well. That is a situational dose, I use post cleanup(algae scrub/removal) and occasionally post water change. Daily, I dose 2 drops of AF Probio S, and NP Pro. TM All For Reef is for chemistry stability at the moment. Salt is AF Reef.

Ahh,
Thank You and very much agree on the topic of discussion regarding probiotic/holistic approach, or should I say, lack thereof. I stand on the hill of the microbiome, shouting to the world, stoked that anyone listens, lol... The concepts are very much involved here, the tank is still young, and the program has fast tracked this 4 month wet system to support and color acros. Must be something to it. I typically would NEVER recommend acros in this timeframe, nor in this small of a system, but I had to put my money where my mouth was, and give it a go. This is seriously a challenge!
As far as my bulb choice, I like a 50/50 look, but opted for 2xABS, 3xB+, and 1xP+ With the SB Reef light bar, this covers all spectrums and overlaps, so I feel confident that I should be able to get both color and growth. I would love 8 bulbs...

The study of soil, permacultue, and regenerative agriculture has led me to a better understanding of how the network, works... No experts, doctors, scientists, or masters required, in fact, I believe they are inferior to nature and the lack of limitations in the unknown. That said, I am a student, and observer, and have experience in this game. I have core beliefs based on what works, and continue to emphasize the good, while understanding the bad offers learning, and is equally valued. The micro-biome is important, only because now, more than ever with living ocean rock limitations, we can no longer take plug and play micro-biome for granted. We now are forced to work with sterility, and unfortunately a culture of "Anti" versus "Pro" which is imbedded in our agriculture, which is what has compelled this deeper dive. For those interested, I will begin a new series on my channel diving deep into these topics. Also, the Acro Spotlight series will begin soon as well, so be on the lookout :)
