Wondering if anyone has seen this before. A while ago I purchased this sarmentosa and after a few months it lost all of its color and went grey. I figured I would try to move it to a lower light area and placed it below my Miagi tort, so it's getting probably 200 par or so.

The color came back but half of it started to take on a blue colour almost like the Miagi above it.

The coral is happy now but the thing almost looks grafted. Is this common?

Yup, happens to coral in captivity now and then, and “grafting” was a popular term used to discuss the apparent exchange of symbiotic algae. It will be interesting to see if it keeps the color or if it reverts back to the original. Keep us updated!

I love the species of coral.

Very cool. I never would have imagined it would happen in my tank.

I definitely will update this thread every few months to track its progress.
