Hi!I like how it says “natural graft” but when you read how it was done it’s absolutely not natural
Pics or it never happenedHi!
Sorry we don't use R2R so we don't check our threads or notifications here anymore. A couple things though:
Yes the grafted torch is still alive and it's in my personal tank now. It's still just one head.
The naturally grafted torch is a completely different torch than the one shown in this thread. I got it from RAP Orlando and I sold it a couple months ago. I've only ever had two of those naturally grafted ones so it is not something I'm posting every couple months to "hype" the demand. It genuinely sold to one of our good customers and we have not had another one since. You can see the grafted torch we made versus the naturally grafted one are two complete different colors.
We are only active on instagram @thekoralking if anyone wants to asks questions or updates!
Sounds cool can you post a pic ?Hi!

This didn't age well. Just wanted to say that. I've seen several home grafted ones split now.The skeletons may grow over one another but they will never fuse; which is why it is not going to split in-between. Best of luck, and I really hope that I am wrong.
If it was this simple we would have them saturating the market already.
What is this consideredFrom what I know, "grafted" corals actually come from pigments transferring from one colony to another, not fusing of the flesh/skeleton. In SPS grafts, one fragment usually overgrows the other, giving the illusion that they fuse.
Probably also a pigment "infection", or started from there. Another possibility is that it's a chimera colony, forming from two planulae settling on the same spot; these are the only true grafted coralsWhat is this consideredFrom what I know, "grafted" corals actually come from pigments transferring from one colony to another, not fusing of the flesh/skeleton. The parent owner has had the hammer colony for almost 20 years, it’s single color, he frags it about once a year. he said it’s a rare occurance, but has happened a few times over the last two decades, it grows a branch like this with bicolored heads. He refers to it as a natural graft. Is that correct ?Probably also a pigment "infection", or started from there. If it's a natural graft (found like that in the wild), then the latter is likely true (planulae settlement chimera). The parent owner has had the hammer colony for almost 20 years, it’s single color, he frags it about once a year. he said it’s a rare occurance, but has happened a few times over the last two decades, it grows a branch like this with bicolored heads. I knew it! It’s a torchThat is true
Honestly, taking a second look at it, there is a good possibility that it actually is a cristataI knew it! It’s a torchThat is true
I’m glad you agree
