Grafted scoly experiment here at Koral king, we took a bleeding apple and a warpaint scoly (~2”) and cut them with the diamond saw and grafted them together on the propagation plates. The cuts were performed on the 15th of nov, and have been healing for the past 4 days. One of the grafts shows signs of taking and the other may not take, but at least all 4 fragments look healthy and have Not receded but instead have already shown signs of healing. Even if they do not successfully graft, this is great news for the future of scoly propagation because it shows that there is some success to be found in captive propagation. We may have gotten lucky, but this may prove to be a viable option that may be pursued later down the road. In regards to it being cruel to perhaps cut these scolys in half, it is better to cut the ones in captivity rather than to continue to collect wild specimens.

Fed the experiments today! Got good feeding responses out of one scoly, but both ended up eating the pellets they were given. Flesh on all 4 scoly fragments looks good with no recession. Showing good signs Of healing too, but may have unfortunately missed the true graft. Will be updating further.

Unique corals had a thread on this year's ago. Same idea but they didn't keep up with updates. I've seen people frag these before but they take forever to get round again so resale of weird shaped scolys is not as easy as a nice round one.
