Suction Cups for moving

Anyone out there have any experience using suction cups to lift and move a tank? I have seen a couple threads of people recommending them to others, but haven't seen much as far as "real world results" go. Any risk of glass scratching? Anyone have them FAIL during a lift or move?

Used them several times without issue. Makes the job a whole lot easier.

My old club had them for member to use, and they got used a lot!

I prefer this style over the lever style. I prefer this style over the dual cup with the handle in the middle. They work well. Have moved tons of glass and stone as well with the cups I linked. Harbor freight tools are typically low quality. In many cases the HF tool will do the job, but regarding suction cups I would definitely skip HF and get the cups I linked.

Had a harbor freight one fail on a 300g tank lift, will not use them again for large tanks.

I wouldn’t move anything bigger than a 180 without them. Their are several places you can rent them from.

What size tank are you trying to move?

Reefer 250. So not very large. It's 55 gallons on top I think? Glass is thick, but I lifted it on the stand out of the box with myself and another guy. This time it will be going down 3 flights of stairs and I kind of wanted some sort of insurance for the lift.

No i got mine from Amazon they are rated for 400 LBS i can't really see on my phone where you are at lol good luck

Grip gloves are covered with silicone dots they are meant for gripping even if something is wet.

I didn't get them for aquariums originally but they happened to work incredibly well for it.
