hey all,

I'm setting up my new 30 gallon tank, here's what I've so far collected for equipment. Am I massing anything?

-Xr15w Pro's x2 with RMS mounts
-Mp10wQd
-Reef Link
Battery Backup
-Auto Aqua Smart ATO Micro with 5 Gallon resoirvor
-Apex Jr
-AC50 with custom media rack running carbon and GFO

I am going sump less, thoughts?
My tank will be LPS and softies (zoas + shrooms)
I'd clean out the filter 2-3 times weekly
20% water change weekly.

My first four years of reefing were in aquaclear hob filter tanks. My 30 cube is sump less and I'm going to take out the tunze skimmer and put in a comline.
Hated all the hob skimmers I tried. Aqua clear and canister worked better.
Go with a canister or oversized aquaclear or tunze style in tank you'll be happy. I recommend a hob refugium. Had them on all my tanks from 5 gal to 30 gal. You don't need to up your WC or anything else. That's a myth. Same husbandry. You may need to make sure you beat up the water surface to make sure you get good gas exchange. My hob fuge were air pump driven so problem solved there.
