Looks like a 46 bowfront.

I wouldn't pay anywhere near 400$ for that setup...just my opinion of course.

I say NO for sure with that tank for $300
I say NO even it is $200
I still say NO if its $150
I am still saying NO because you won't have extra money for something else because you are still too young.
If your DAD support you for money and you take care the tank then OK to buy around $120 or less.
Let's break down.
1- The used tank - $30
2- The rocks - $40
3- The sand - $10
4- The pump - $10
5- The light - $30
6- The filter - $20
Total: $140
30% discount if you buy all system - $42
You should pay $98.00

Notice: My friend is owning the fish store he said do not use the bow tank for saltwater, it will leak! I am not sure 100% right because I don't have too many tanks as he had so just listen and follow it.

i just got back into my tank im 18 got it around 4-5 years ago

its a 90 gallon with a wet dry 30g sump
asm g-4 protein skimmer
bioballs
corner overflow
had a couple damsels, pair of clowns, mandarin goby, harly shrimp anemone some coral.

i paid 500$
previous owner broke it down in rubber made container brought it to my house and helped me set it up.

I would definitely wait for something with a sump.
getting back into the hobby now it makes everything way easier

Okay here are my options...

Either start up a 55 gallon with a sump from the beginning or...

The 40 Gallon with...
No sump.
A PF 40 UV filter
A hang on protien skimmer
And 30" coralife lunar aqualight HO t5.
35 Pounds of liverock
2”sand bed
Lots of corals (leathers and mushrooms)
A clean up crew
An optional coral beauty angel
Already established

I wouldn’t do it. The equipment is eh and you could likely do better for not much more new. If you found your pieces used you could come out better off all around.

Things like live rock are as likely to be a problem coming from an established tank you don’t know much about as a benefit.

If I were trying to set up a cheap 40, I’d probably go with...

Petco 40 Plus Petco 20 for sump. $60 if you wait.
20lbs Marco Rock or BRS for $70.
Eheim or Sicce Return Pump for $50.
Reef Octopus Skimmer for $200.
Sunblaze from BRS $95.
ATI Bulbs $80.
Bulkhead and PVC $20.
Metal frame stand $80.
Circulation pump $50.

Total $705 for a much more capable tank with a stand. Buying used you could get to $400 - $500. I’ve sold perfectly good skimmers for $100 just to make space. Dollar amounts are from memory so could be off.

Don't see any coral at all or am I blind?

I would definitely keep an eye out for better deals as well. Even budget is a limiting factor maybe even finding a good deal on an AIO would be a good option.

You said you were planning on setting up a 75 this summer? Do you have that tank already ?

I already have the empty 55 and sump, just trying to get a good price comparison. I need to find a cheap light. There are corals in the tank, just a bunch of leather and mushroom frags, I have a better pic I’ll put up.

I’m probably going to pass on this, the person is trying to get rid of the tank so they may end up giving it too me for free (that would be nice). I would like to have a tank setup by this summer so hopefully I can atleast get my 55 built and start with a fresh new tank.

Get 40 Breeder - only $40 when Petco has their sale. It’s an awesome size.
