Yup, same here, mixed clear in 20 minutes. But overnight with no pump, got cloudy. If it's sitting, it's kind of clear, but white stuff at bottom and floating, so once you start mixing again, cloudy.

I wonder if I mixed longer like 24 hours and then turn off, it will happen? I would hate to have to keep power on 24/7 for stored saltwater.

Never happened to me with 7 years of IO.
Good to Know!

That makes 2 with cloudy water after mixing and letting it stand.

I stored regular IO for years too and never had a problem either.

I'm almost finished with a box of fritz rpm, so far all my Parameters have been rock solid stable and on point with fresh mix. The following are what it's varied so far on new mix.

Dkh 7.8-8.1
Ca 440-455
Mg 1460-1475

Are you heating it? Don't heat New salt water.
I do not heat and I'm not the ones who reported having cloudy water. :D

I love the RPM. Did you read my post #51 and #70?

I haven't tried it yet, I'm on my last box of IO lol
Rick,
I loved the RPM. No complaint's here, but... (lol) I just went back to IO. Just can't beat the DF&S and Petsolutions prices. If I see decline I'll go back to the RPM but I highly doubt that I will and I bought 400g worth of IO. :)

Why would you change 25% at a time? If that's the req, then no, it would not work. Heating NSW increases chance of precipitation. See Randy's big thread about it. I stopped heating and only mix for no more than an hour. Not Fritz, but I will likely make the change to it since the parameters look good out of the box.

Govols: I meant to reply to the folks that were having clouding issues.

I just picked up a box of this salt and tested my first batch of water. Here are the parameters I got:

1.026 salinity
7 dKH (Hanna)
415ppm calcium (salifert)
1350ppm magnesium (salifert)

A little bit disappointed. I was expecting higher alk...

That disappoints myself too.
I've only used one box and all parameters were spot on to Fritz's specs.

Message them with the batch number on the box. They can look into it. So far all my boxes have been on point.

Fritz is great, I use it on my tank and I havent had to dose at all since I switched over, probably my favorite salt to date.

I do agree can't beat the prices df&s offer. I still my give it a try one day. I'm only keeping Zoas &palys so IO should be just fine for now

How long after mixing did you test the water?

If your good with the IO parameters then stick with it. Used it for most of my reefing life.
Salt is Salt. :)

So what's the magic mix time on this salt?
I mix up to 50g of saltwater at a time and can't see into the containers to know if its cloudy or anything like that.
Don't want to over mix and cause precipitation.
