I knew I needed a social acclimation box as I started to introduce fish out of quarantine into my big tank. I needed a box that was big enough for larger fish (3" butterflies and tangs) but didnt cost an arm and a leg. Something that was quality built and would last. Knowing Synergy has a great reputation for sumps and other acrylic parts, I decided I would pick up one of these acclimation boxes and see if all the reviews were on point.
The box arrived yesterday via USPS flat rate. The packing was well done, secured with tape and cardboard inserts that prevented the acrylic from moving around while in transit. Took me about ten mintues to unwrap it all from the packing so I could get a look at all of the pieces (6 in total). Everything arrived intact and without any shipping damage. All of the little tabs were still there as well, which had worried me initially upon looking at how the box held together - those little tabs need to be strong and rugged! It took me about an hour to peel all of the adhesive paper off of the acrylic (it probably could have been quicker, but I was trying really hard to not scratch the acrylic - and all those little letters!!!!) and put the box together. It goes together really quickly, and as it happens with nearly everything I do, I put the sides on backwards, so the lid didnt close completely (closure tab was on against the back pane, and not on the front where the cut out for it exists). I was able to break it down quickly, flip the sides around and reassemble the box in less than five minutes. It looks great, stores flat and is really sharp looking in general.
