I have a 6 x 39w ATI Powermodule. I was thinking of removing one of the bulbs and putting a couple of LED strips in it's place to add some "shimmer" to the tank. Someone suggested T8 LED bulbs to me but I don't know anything about them and I am having a hard time finding information.

Has anyone used T8s? Do they come in 36"? I have only found 48" online.

Thanks.

Can't help you however I plan to add some LED to my 6 lamp aquatic life fixture for the same reasons. Not yet sure how to achieve exactly what I want yet, but I'm getting there.

I was looking at putting two Panorama pros in one of the channels that hold a T5 bulb. When I read about T8's I thought it might be even easier and cleaner.
Orphek makes one but I can't seem to find anyone who has used them.

IceCap used to make them before they were acquired by another company (CoralVue, I think). Not sure if they were T8s or T5s though.

MarineDepot has something in the size you're looking for, and they're a sponsor. It's not clear to me if it drops into the fixture instead of your T5 bulb, but you could always ask the MarineDepot people in their forum.
CoralVue MoonVue Retrofit 470nm LED Tubes w/ Power Supply & Mounting Clips

Edit: I suppose I should add that I've never seen these bulbs in action and can't vouch if they'll do what you're hoping they do. Best ask about that too. HTH
