Hi All!

Needing a check on if I’m seeing things or not.

Three months ago or so I added a purple tang to my tank. The tank has mostly LPS in it and one BTA hosted by a clown. All coral has been fine but roughly around the time I added the PT it seems my BTA has been very distressed and has yet to be as inflated as pre purple tang. All parameters have stayed steady and in check. I run high phosphates but have for 2 years so I’m guessing that’s not a factor

I have seen the tang nipping around the nem at rocks for algae but haven’t caught it actually nipping the nem.

Is a tang nipping at a BTA a possibility or would the tang get stung and stop?

Tang will prob stay away. Nems dont taste that good.

If it is nipping at the nem it will F around and find out real fast lol. Might be the constant swimming, I had a BTA that was bothered by one of my tangs zipping by it until the nem moved

That’s another strange part is the nem has never showed any attempt to move. Stubborn fella maybe.

Yeah nems are very strange! Maybe it likes that spot and refuses to move!
