Oh OK. I have no idea what Beatles do in their spare time. But I do know my wife was there at Shea Stadium here in New York when they made their first US appearance.

3 of them were fine one was less so and when they sang I feel fine it obviously wasnt from Star.

This is weird and I am confused. I just re read my silly, but true story of my walk with my wife and for the life of me I can't find anything in there about downplaying people who are sick or who died from Corona virus including my closest friend of fifty years or two of my other friends who have it along with 6 or 7 acquaintances.

Here in New York where I live we know very well about what this disease is doing.
I also know that all the other posts on this and other forums are still going on talking about fish.

My post was about a walk and an itch on "My" thread and had nothing to do with the disaster at hand.

You said I met you. Of course I don't know who you are or where I met you but at that meeting did I seem like a heartless type of person?

Which is the comment I made, or spewed that is so offending. If I said something vitreous, I may change it.
I posted that on 5 or 6 other forums and no one said anything either way.

We live in different worlds. I went to the bank and the grocery today. Then I mowed the grass. You see very few people wearing masks when you are out. There are no lines to get in and except for a few things the shelves are back to normal. There are arrows on the floor for traffic patterns for social distancing. People ignore them. The whole thing is like a bad SCIFI movie on the TV.
I currently know more people that died in house fires than from the virus.

I wish you well and hope you come through this intact.

Hey Paul - no, you did not seem like a heartless type of person, and I am sure there is no intended maliciousness from you, but I couldn't stand to glaze over a portion of your post that I quoted earlier. The moderator has since edited the post. You did not talk of any down play revolving around the coronavirus, but rather you spoke irrational words towards people of Chinese descent, and how it was possibly their intention of harming you via bed linens, along side how you would pay back the favor.

From my perspective - If you don't know who it was made by - why did you choose to say it was made in China? What if it was made in America? Why is it Chinese people who plotted against your bed linens?

As it stands, there has been an uptick in attacks of various forms against asian's in this country which I am intolerable of. How can people be aware of what they're saying is insensitive if nobody stands up for it?

I hope this makes my argument more clear.

We here in New York still all wear masks. Everyone in a supermarket, pharmacy or any place are masked and gloved.

We still have lines getting in Home Depot and Costco because they only let in one person at a time and you have to wear a mask.
I think there are 22,000 cases in my town and the hospital is still full as is the morgues as we have refrigerated "Morgue" trucks in the hospital parking lot where my closest friend lies.

We can take out food in a restaurant but have to order it on the phone and they bring it out to your car.
Everyone here knows someone with it and tomorrow I am going to the Veterans Cemetery to sit in my car while they bury my friend as we are not allowed to get out.

I know some people think I don't feel for these people or have no heart. Those people don't know me.

Tsouth, that does make it clearer. I have no problem with Chinese people and have quite a few Asian Friends from all over. I happen to like Asian people very much.
I even tutored a group of Asian kids on engineering something for the New York subway system.

I am mad at the Chinese Government for the virus that killed my friend and many other people. Of course that has nothing to do with the population of the country and I think I said I would donate it to the President of that country, not the people. But in the future I will not mention Chinese anything in a negative light.

That’s awesome and an amazing milestone to hit! And thank you for your service :)

Paul please be careful out there. I’m 27 and on March 27th I tested positive for the virus myself. Today was my first day back at work since I’m an essential employee. Im so sorry about your friend, that’s absolutely terrible. Isolation was terrible since I was locked in my room and couldn’t see my wife, 2.5 year old and my 4 week old son. It was heart breaking. I’ll never forget this year as long as I live. It’s truly scary and I had anxiety all day being back at work. I’m in NY as well. Be safe everyone.

Tsouth, thank you for pointing that out to me. I went to the 6 other forums I posted that on and deleted any remark on China . I meant no disrespect to the Chinese people them selves.

Eh..,Paul, we all know you have tongue in cheek rants about chinese made tools and made to break sooner rather than later Foreign made espresso makers, toasters, and blenders, and blankets. And that you love and believe in your American made tools, parts and kitchen appliances. Sarcasm, silly, and patriotic all at once. We know no harm is meant.
Obviously folks might be sensitive about it right now, I suppose. Rightly so, maybe. The world...It’s a scary and strange place right now. So maybe it comes across differently than intended.
And I was pretty sure your wife Was cleaning your bedroom linens as it seemed the likely culprit. It is very strange though. Hope you feel better now

WE are still in a funk but getting back to fish. After I lost my copperband my tank is having a big aiptasia invasion.
Those things don't normally bother me but lately a lot of things are bothering me so I wanted to take it out on something and all I have that I am not particularly fond of are aiptasia.

I looked around and found one of my old prototypes of a majano wand. I plugged it in and I was surprised it worked.

I killed a bunch of them and it was gratifying. Some came back so I killed them again. Now I feel much better and hope some return so I can yet again kill them. (The thing is not designed to kill aiptasia so if you have those, don't buy one)

These guys are much more than friends but I am not sure where they are spawning or even how they spawn because I don't remember ever having Rainsford gobies spawning or ever having two of them but for a year they stood on complete opposite ends of the 6' tank. Now they hang out all the time

I have two Rainsford Gobies that have done the same. They spent the first six months at opposite ends of the tank with the larger one scarring off the smaller one whenever they did come close (or the larger decided they liked where the little one was hanging out). But in the last few weeks they have started hanging out together most of the time. Occasionally they line up and bump at each other (like kissing).

Let me know what I should be looking for in terms of spawning.... Do they get broody?

Cheers, Tony

Tony I really am not sure if there spawning or not. If they are, they are doing it in a place behind my tank where I can't see. There are a lot of places in my tank where I can't see but the back right corner is up against ductwork and that part of the glass has a thick coat of algae on it so Godzilla could be spawning there and I wouldn't know it.
But I "think" they are spawning. If I see eggs, I will post it,

This morning we are going to park at the entrance of Calverton Military cemetery near here to wait for my friend who died of Corona virus last week. I understand they had to pull a lot of strings to get him buried because cemeteries are not working now but maybe because he is a Veteran and retired cop they are doing it. I am not sure............................

Just now as I am writing this my friends wife called to tell us what time they will be at the cemetery.
It was a very tear filled call.

She told us that yesterday she was cleaning out stuff my friend left in the garage and he had this lamp he was fixing. It was still lit on his workbench. She took a video as she was talking to his "spirit" complaining about all the stuff he had and she didn't know what to do with and all of a sudden the lamp started blinking.

She sent us the video. It kept blinking for about 5 seconds as she was talking. The overhead light didn't blink.

This was very weird. Her and my wife are kind of spiritual and figured it was him saying good bye.
Whatever it was, she took it as a good sign so if it makes her happy, it makes us happy.

We now have over 27,000 cases of the virus in my town of Suffolk Long Island NY. I am very happy that much of the country seems to be getting over it.

RIP your friend Paul and it would is nice your friends wife believing to be a sign from her husband with the light. Stay safe and take care.

Paul, It is hard to say good bye. May you be sustained by the good memories of your friend and a lifelong friendship today. For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you...a thought from a very old text that I hope brings you some comfort. You honored your friend by sharing that life long friendship and being the family his widow needs today.
I am sorry for the sadness that will also attend this day.

Thank you Lowell. Of course we will not be able to view his body but that is a good thing because I would rather remember him as he was a few weeks ago sitting on my couch watching a movie with me.

My Dad died suddenly when I was 10 and I saw him laying in the bed. I wish I didn't see that because whenever I remember him, I see that sight rather than remembering the few years we had together.

It seems we remember the last time we saw someone more vividly than the other times.
I would rather remember my friend Tommy alive as the very funny best friend anyone could ever have.

I am the same Paul, my mum is 95 and wi probably outlive me but if she doesn't then It would rather remember her as she is now not laid out. I guess we are all different, like and want different things, that's what makes us who we are.
