So I need to learn something please. Why do you want it to grow algae?

grossSo the surgeon removed my bandage, and my arm didn't fall off. he said there was much more arthritis in there than the X-ray showed, and my rotator cuff didn't have any more rotations left in it, as it looked like it had an argument with a chainsaw and lost.
But that's what happens to real men if we live long enough. If you didn't tear that 5 or 10 times, you didn't do enough in your life or have enough fun.

It encourages algae growth where you want it, on your terms. Algae is inevitable. Growing it on a scrubber means it's less in the display. Same idea as a refugium with macro algae. So I need to learn something please. Why do you want it to grow algae?
its an "algae scrubber". You want the algae to grow there to help control nutrients increase o2 and supposedly if the algae is happy to grow there it wont grow elsewhere in the tank.So I need to learn something please. Why do you want it to grow algae?
Jinx!It encourages algae growth where you want it, on your terms. Algae is inevitable. Growing it on a scrubber means it's less in the display. Same idea as a refugium with macro algae.

Thank You I found it interesting but am confused. Have found the Sochting products but they say you need ton use their fluid. Meanwhile an article talking about the same product says hydrogen peroxide . Please comment , and also a little more usage detail would be appreciated. ie placement time used . Is this the same idea as Paul's reverse gravel Filter?ATS = Algae Turf Scrubber. Lots and lots of information on the net
Well worth researching.
That is a completely different thing. The Sochting runs on hydrogen peroxide. ATS is just a screen you run water over with light algae grow naturally no extra chemicals needed.Thank You I found it interesting but am confused. My new shoulders and knees were made in Indiana. I made sure they were not made in China or I would have got a different surgeon.nope. Hey just wondering are all of your parts made in the US?![]()

I emulated Paul when I converted Joubert Plenum with deep sand bed to a reverse flow under gravel filter using 2” of aroggonite substrate. I consider the void under substrate to be a cryptic refugium for nutrient recycling and aroggonite substrate assist with buffering and trace mineral source. My new shoulders and knees were made in Indiana. the algae scrubber has nothing to do with a reverse undergravel filter. It simply provides the algae with a better environment to grow, and I want algae, just not on my corals.
The reverse undergravel filter is the secret to having a half-century tank, but don't tell anyone because I like having the oldest tank on here.

Sorry Paul, no secrets allow on R2R. You do realise that you will be number one enemy to all those making money peddling potions?Subsea, don't tell anyone, or everybody's tank will last forever without quarantine or medication. It's a secret.

Me as well Paul, me as well. I mean what more can we do to have a disease outbreak? Personally I have bought fish others wouldn't go near. Like you never stressed new fish with QT, I mean why would we? I understand the concept but its flawed as we both know.

There are no Italian reef fish so you're safe there Paul. We do have cold water reefs in the UK.Atoll, I am Italian, so I eat a lot of garlic. Maybe that's why I never get sick except for needing new joints. I don't know if any of my fish are Italian, but I know they never ate garlic because their breath is nice and fresh.![]()
