Dial float hydrometers are garbage. Bad false off readings.
A glass float hydrometer with removed tank water into a cup would work.

No my favite is hanging in there. There is some necrosis but I just saw it’s tentacles come out for feeding a few moments ago. I think my galaxia is also hanging in there, but I don’t see it opening yet. I believe my salinity may be off slightly by a few points as it was 1.25 and it seems a little higher. I will have my lfs test my water while I buy a new refractomer. What is your definition of a crash and what did you do before it happened
Did everything die over 24hrs
any idea of tds coming out of the unit? i personally dislike that unit because you need to buy their specific replacement stuff which is annoying. also is it the ro buddie or the ro buddie plus di cartridge as the di cart is important.I use fritz aquatic salt mix. I use a hydrometer to check the water. My refractomer broke and will have to get a new one. My RO is made using my aquatic life RO buddy system. It’s a pretty basic system . Nothing fancy or extravagant.
My Pink Goni closed up for two days just from a salt brand change. Freaked me out. Definitely agree. It is normal for the coral to look a little ticked off after a wc. Especially if you changed salt mixes.

Hi I also have a TDS meter that I use only to measure the purity of my RO water. So far it has been reading at 0.00. I also went to Home Depot and connected a second sediment filter made by GE to my Aquatic Life 4-stage RO buddy. Last guys I just received my refractomer and my salinity on my 90 gal is high almost 1.030. I was in the process of testing my alkalinity, calcium, phosphate, nitrite, nitrate and ammonia but my glass tubes from my API broke . I have to order new test kits. Any thoughts on the Red Sea products? Here’s a photo of my 90 gallon. I have four tanks . Two freshwater 125 gallon, 30gallon, 90(s/w), 75(s/w). I will send a photo of my surviving corals. Please advise on anything that I can continue to do. I currently dose a capful of brightwell aquatics a and b every other week. And I use bright wells restor also a capful daily to help revive my corals.I use a tds meter to tell me when i need to change filters. I dont test all the water. Tds meters are not for sw.
I only use a refractometer and a heater and pump.
