Hi guys,
New to saltwater and setting up a 125. I know the taotronics LEDs from EBay are on the cheaper side, but would they allow me to keep softies and sps? Also, what would be my possible regrets down the road if I did use these.

Looks okay to me, IDK about sps, as they only run leds at 630 ma, which is not the birightest, they are cheap leds. They should work for softies though.

Welcome SteelerMike,

I have 3 of these on a 220 84x24x24 they are lighting it up nicely, the tank is mostly softies, with a few zoes/palys and a handfull of LPS and a Large clam. everything is doing fine, took a week or so for everything to ajust from the t5s to the LEDS but ive had them a little over a month and they are doing good, ill post a few pics when i get home tonight. but heres a full tank shot, sorry its a crappy cell phone pic.

Wow, looks nice Kenny. I think I am going to go with these. I am hearing of more and more people having success with them. Thanks for the reply!

They do work good (im pleased) BUT the ones at Aquariumleds.com are nice also , i had to get a cord for one of mine (the box only had one in it) and the customer service was a nightmare , and it took 2+ weeks. other than that i love them, i am looking to add a few SPS to see how they work this weekend , i think its all about placement. but i love the look and the price wasnt bad either. for the money i paid, if they last 3-4 years ill be really happy. considering i am Saving 300 a year on t5 bulbs and my light bill dropped 45 bucks a month..........well worth it IMO, BTW thanks for the compliments, its come a long way and im still learning.
:xd:
