Is a 3 degree change in temp a bad thing? Mine goes from 79 to 82 as the MH heat up. During the winter it never fluctuated that much, but I can't run the AC all day.

Shouldn't be a problem. Mine usually fluctuates that much because my wife insists on it being freezing cold every night.

4 degrees is fine. 5 degress will cause some stress, but will not kill a coral. I would not recommend anything more than that.

My temp will swing a few degrees sometimes but i agree with everyone above a few degrees no problem. But 5 degrees is pushing it and i wouldnt let it swing anymore then that.
