OK, so my tank is like 6 to 8 months old everything came out of my other tank that was about a year old. The only thing I really added was live sand because I went from a 55 to 125 I have been battling nitrates For what seems like months. I have the Hannah master checker and every test reach 75 which is where it maxes out. PH is 8.0 to 8.3 ammonia is o -.25 salinity is 1.023 to 1.026 or 32 to 35 temperature is 78 to 78.5 I have done so many water changes. It is ridiculous. I just completed 100 gallon water change and I have another 55 gallons ready to do it again tonight. I’ve tested my nitrates with the API kit. Reading 10 to 20 and a Salifert kit reading five my issue has been algae. It has completely taken over and killed most of my zoas and basically anything else I put in the tank I had over 100 snails. The only ones I really see anymore are the massive turbos my lighting is 3XR 30s. I turned the white light off and it’s set like 50% been changing filter socks daily. livestock was two blue Chromis one sale in tank about 4 inches one coral beauty 3 inches one orange shoulder tank about 2 1/2 inches still yellow and two clown fish and a cleaner shrimp. Last night I lost all of my fish except for the two clowns only thing I can think of is the grill was on and you could smell it in the house and it possibly raised CO2 levels in the tank. I am about to drain the tank and start over please help.

Skimmer is a maxspect sk400 and 2 icecap 4K gyres for flow. Tank has probably 45 pounds of live rock.
Please help this is the last chance before I shut it down and start over

I’m not a believer of starting over ever….seems like you have multiple issues, including leaving your grill on? Did you qt your fish, maybe post some pictures?

It’s a bummer you lost all your fish. I suggest a vigorous cleaning to remove all visible algae and detritus. Vacuum the top layer of sand and blow the rocks to help cleaning. Add some good quality ocean live rock, making sure it’s not too tightly packed to become a detritus trap. With only 2 fish limit feeding to what is only consumed in seconds. Add hardy fast growing leather coral and qt herbivore fish.
