Many of you know I recently got two baby Regal Angels. I posted pictures of the smaller one a page or so back. Here are pictures of the larger one. R and L side.

Wow those and a Flame pair and a Royal Gramma harem and a tank is complete!
Those fish are stunning!

What is the minimum sized tank to house those 2 beauties happily?

I don’t have Royal Gramma at this time. Rather the small fishes you see are various Flasher and Fairy wrasses.
The Flame angels pair plus a few more female Flame angels will eventually move to my DT but not there right now.
IMO, Regal Angels need tanks of at least 120 with good LR display. They tend to weaves in and out of rock. They grow very slowly. I have keep Regal Angels in my 65 gal for years before moving them to my 320.

I got this blue line from a local member who was breaking down his tank about 8 months ago(?). It was the biggest fish at the time so there was no issue with the other existing angelfish. I actually didn’t really think I would like it to be honest. But after a couple days, the irredescent blue lines is really an eye catcher. Overtime, I watch the bluefish interact with other tank mates and it really is a peaceful and wonderful fish. Maybe it’s the biggest angelfish in the tank but it bothers no one. My male interruptus, on the other hand, is the most aggressive.
As we all know any angelfish will eat fleshy LPS and this blueline is no exception. Although I highly reccomend the blueline, I would have to say the Regal Angels are still my favorite fish.

Hey guys I’m new to reefing and have a question. I’m starting a 110 gallon tall tank. And I want to base my tank around an emperor angel and a queen angel. My question is will both of them be ok in that size tank?

Unfortunately a tank that size would only be a temporary tank for either of those angels as juveniles. They will quickly outgrow a tank that size, 2 maybe 3 years max. Especially the Queen angel. Ideally a 240 gallon or larger if you want to have both of these fish.

To be honest, neither one by itself full grown will be happy in a 110 gallon long term, especially a tall one.

I have a 215 gallon and I know once the emperor starts to get larger (8"+), I'll have to rehome him. But everyone has different ideas on what's good for the fish but I would just feel bad keeping the 8" emperor in my 215 gallon.
