Here’s Jackie Kennedy! I hope she keeps pecking at the rocks and doesn’t start on my corals! There’s been a little aggression from the coral beauty who is 4x her size but after swimming off she comes right back where she was and keeps going. I think she may have pushed out Royal gramma out of its place lol

Very adorable, I have seen some good sized dwarf angels available at LADD like tibicen, nox and eibli.

Hi, I need some advice on dwarf angels, and which would be the most appropriate choice for my tank.
I have a 3 foot by 2 foot system, 70 gallon display, 100 gallons in total.
The tank mates would be a variety of peaceful wrasse, ocellaris clown pair, assessor basslet, longnose hawkfish.

The dwarf angels I've been considering are the Flame, going price here is $500, so I don't think that one will be the one I get...Just wanted to share the price on them here, my jealousy only grows when I see harems of them!

Coral Beauty, pretty cheap, beautiful fish, hardy and easily attainable. I don't see many downsides for this one, but there is always the potential for coral eating.

Eibli, not seen a huge amount of info out there on them, I've seen that they are more prone to coral munching than others, on par with Lemon Peels and Nox. They are the cheapest option, and coral isn't my priority at the moment, I think my system needs to mature a bit more before I try anything other than some basic softies.

How about trying a harem of Cherub angels or Coral Beauties maybe?

As far as coral nipping Lemon Peels are way worse in my experience but each individual fish is probably different to some extent.

i may share from my exp of reef tank ( mostly LPS ) with dwarf angels.

Coral
- SPS / Euphyllia / Goniopora => quite safe with dwarf angels
- Zoa / Open brain / Lobo / Blasto / Acan / Worms => high risk

Dwarf angel
Centropyge :
- for me these 5 are always good choices ( high possibility to be safe ) for reef tank
=> Flame , Multicolor , Potteri , Coral beauty , Flameback ( right now Potteri seems to be very rare from Hawaii )
- some Centropyges i call them "nipped mouth" like Lemonpeel / Bicolor / Eibli , they are considerably more risks

Paracentropyge :
- All of them are "worth the risk" , just keep it ... :D

These are the 3 angels I have in with a couple of coral (my tank isn’t impressive by any means with coral as I had a wipeout of coral due to Asterina stars).

I’ve found the best way to have angels in a reef system is;
Getting cheaper coral to try out with them and if it doesn’t work out, avoid the more expensive corals with similar looks/textures. For example, get a cheaper red Acan and try it out instead of getting a more expensive rainbow Acan and losing it.
As said above, the corals most at risk seem to be;
Zoas, Lobos, Blastos, Acans, Scolys/Trachys/Wellsos, etc.
Whilst the corals I have and have had in with my angels are;
Duncans, Mushrooms of varied species, Hammers, Torches, Kenya Trees, Sinularia Leathers and Chilli Corals.

If I said for you to have any Angel in a reef, I’d say either a Coral Beauty or Multicolour. And yes, you can have several so if you wanted a small group that is also an option (although it has a higher risk of coral nipping compared to 1 Angel).

Thanks, I love the suggestion of a harem of Coral Beauties, but I don't know if the footprint of my tank would be able to support that.

Multicolours are my all time favourite dwarf angel, but alas, along with the Cherub as well, they are over $300 here, as well as the Regal angels. Makes me sad, but at least my wallet is happier.

I'm not too bothered about coral nipping, like suggested, I tend to keep the corals they aren't too interested in. I'm not that focused on creating a thriving coral garden just yet, I think my system has a fair bit of maturing to do before it can support corals other than soft corals like mushrooms, leathers, firework clove polyps etc, and hoping for some fimbriaphyllia (first LPS!) soon.

@i cant think , you have previously worked in an LFS, do you have any experience with the reef safeness of Eibli angelfish? I'd really like to have multiple angels if possible in my tank, and if so, I would go with one of these and a Coral Beauty.
