So here are some pics of the sump/fuge on my fiance's (lauren) tank. It is not your typical fuge that most people run. It is a cryptic fuge. Well atleast my attempt at one. I did not go as crazy as some people with painting all the glass and making it completely blacked out but it is about 90% blacked out by the stand.the fuge gets almost no light except if some bleeds through the back of the stand. Only thing in the sump is a heater, return pump, drain tube, and live rock. This sump/fuge is on her fish only tank. The tank does not run a skimmer and it probably overstocked with fish.
Sorry about the glass being dirty but it is the sump we never look at it. The rock was added to the sump 8 months ago and was completely dead when it was put in. The rock is now covered with sponges, pods, and yes some aptasia (that is a long story, I am not allowed to kill any aptasia in the tank).
Rock with black sponge and pineapple sponges everywhere
More pineapple sponges
Pineapple and black sponges
