Then you ain’t cooking them right. Slice them up, salt and pepper, roll in egg, then seasoned flour. Fry them puppies up in an iron skillet with some oil. Yumm
@LadyMac I must respectfully disagree!

this is like wrapping a polished turd in bacon. It’s still a turd!

@living_tribunal did yours self level? What nap roller? Did yours dry hard or rubbery?

It does self level but you need to make sure to apply enough. I'm sure you could spray it but I just didn't want to get any on the outside of the stand. You obviously have a lot more control with a roller. It dries rubbery hard. If you apply enough it will be rubbery. It's kind of soft.

Hmm. Can you press a fingernail into it after it's dry?

It really just depends how much you put on. If you just want to ensure water doesn’t damage the wood and also that it can even hold water, a few coats will suffice and it won’t be super rubbery.

if you want to apply 10 coats then yes you’d be able to press it with your finger

I’m pressing mine now and it’s really not soft like you’re thinking. It is pretty hard if you just do a few coats.
