The power outage map has my street marked in green tonight. Power coming back soon. Hopefully tomorrow. Fingers crossed. If so, that will be one day short of three weeks without power.

Back up to Cat 2, 100 mph max sustained winds, the centerof the eye is approx 30 miles S/SW of me, landfall in 6-12 hours, according to local weather guycenter will probably pass over me, "worse side of storm, east side, will be just to my east...sounds like a squad of F-18 Super Hornets doing a low and slow nose up fly by outside and has been going on like that for a couple of hours now...constantly. Still have power so thats a plus, but with the wind noise its doubtful I'll sleep tonight.

hang in there ,hoping you keep that power, ;)
Power went out about 30 minutes ago...off for 20, back on now.winds at 105 mph and they say could reach Cat 3 @110 mph by sun up. Say landfall by 07:00. Officially have roof leaks now, and sky light was almost sucked out of the roof a few minutes ago, so now its leaking too...over 20"of rain has fallen here in last 12 hrs...and still have 5 more hours to go ;Meh

watching looks like eye wall within the hour gulf shores ground zero, there talkin 36" rain
Yeah it looks like the eye is going to hit within the hour, but only moving 2 miles per hour and edge is approximately 8 miles off shore still...so 4 more hours roughly, which is in line with what our weather guy is saying too...and yeah we are on that leading northern edge now

The slow movement will mean extremely heavy rainfall. That is similar to what Harvey did to Houston a few years ago and dumped 60” of rain. Hope it speeds up and doesn’t just sit there and intensify over warm water. Laura was moving at a pretty good clip, so not much rainfall.

I have a friend that just retired as a river pilot. He rode out Laura at his house here and just a few days ago went to his retirement home in Orange Beach, AL. He will be in the eye of a second hurricane within a month. And I thought I started my retirement off bad.

No flooding in house. Came within 5 ft of front door though. Power out for past 4 hours straight now. Battery backups almost used up...digging out battery powered airpumps now. Hopefully will be enough
