The up and downs of 10 gallon micros

Would love to share experiences with the struggles of micro tanks

Very had to get any decent filtration, often causing algae blooms. I am upgrading to a max of 40 gallons (apartment life) next week and will use the 10 as a fuge.

I have a 16g Rock Flower Anemone breeding tank and it runs OK. I have a HOB filter with just a sponge and a layer of filter sock material under the sponge. I also have a Tunze in-tank skimmer that works OK. This is when I was setting it up a few months ago.

I just recently added a coralife protein skimmer to try to fight algae, has anyone had success with these?
