Got a Blue flasher, McCosker's flasher and a transitioning C. laboutei (for $132 with discount)

I have a C. exquisitus and C. rubripinnis. The rubripinnis is showing aggression towards the exquisitus. Can I put the rubripinnis in an acclimation box for a few days to help? What would be the best solution? I just added the exquisitus a few days ago and he is doing more hiding than I think a fairy wrasse does normally.

Putting the rubrpinnis in an acclimation box for a few days may or may not help. I've seen instances where doing that gives the newcomer get comfortable and established without being harassed. However, I have seen times where the aggressor is put in an acclimation box, but upon release just goes back to chasing. It won't hurt to try it though.

Having a f e w other fairy and flasher wrasses diffuses this sort of aggression.

You could try putting a mirror on one of the sides of your tank. My kole tang is feisty towards newcomers so Ive put a mirror on the tank and he, as well as everyone else, was too busy going after themselves to pay much attention to the new guy.

I put a mirror up, trying to make sure my Sailfin/Bluethroat Fairy wrasse does not loose color, and all my fish are fighting themselves. Most aggressive is the Yellow tang, but both of my Flame Angels, even my small angel that is barely over 1 inch go after herself in the mirror. My fairy wrasse rarely flashed at himself other than on rare occasions.
I would imagine the mirror works well.

I've had good luck with it too. Even my little dragonette would flash itself and do his dance in the mirror.

That definitely makes sense. The mirror worked well for me, but it definitely fires everyone up. I was lucky they channeled that aggression towards their reflection.

I did buy an acclimation box from EA a while back. It was way too big for my 55g but will be utilized on the 180 when it is finished

Sometimes. But sometimes the new fish never gets a chance to calm down and settle in.

It’s been years since I’ve seen groups of them come in!
Seems like it’s only been 1 or 2 random stragglers in shipments of mccoskeri from Kenya for a really lonnnnnnng time now
