Hello, Looking for thoughts on My Red Sea 425, Thinking of adding another wrasse... I have Rhomboid, McCosker's, Splendid Pintail, Blue Star Leopard, Choati, and 2 Pink Streaks... That's the wrasse collection. Mandarin. Randall Assessor, Baby blue tang.....

Thinking Of adding a Black leopard wrasse, Hooded Fairy ( C. bathypilus) Always open for other Ideas?

I like the iridis as well though you likely be waiting a while for that. Hooded flame is a well behaved wrasse. You could also consider chrysus to break up all that orange

Iridis or Leucoxanthus is a must have honestly.
Johnsoni… Well, people know my opinion on that fish haha.
If you want a rare species, go for shutmani, they have a stunning red colour (Almost like the red we see in good blood moons).

I like the iridis as well though you likely be waiting a while for that. Hooded flame is a well behaved wrasse. You could also consider chrysus to break up all that orange

What’s it with people not seeing fish anymore anywhere? TSA got in and 2 iridis on Friday evening and WWC told me if they didn’t have it its one of the easiest to wrasse to get through specia order……

It’s really not an impressive fish other than being rare but I just get unlucky when I see truly rare fish as the specimens I see appear just dull and really not showy at all apparently.

Just got off the phone with TSA and they have a iridis for $90. Didn’t tell me how big the fish was other than tiny ‘like less than half in inch”, but that be too tiny to identify it properly :rolleyes: Guessing its and inch or two.

Nahackyi is nice if you can find one. These are on my list. They can be a bit shy at times.

Whats up with @i cant think and johnsoni? Well they are crazy expensive super hard to find and he has bad luck whenever he comes across them.

My opinion on johnsoni is… It’s a bland fairy, it’s like a duller Isosceles. Atleast the ‘pair’ (Actually two males) I saw were rather dull and nowhere near what photos show. I have seen a total of 4 in the past 6-7 years and none of them have been what photos show unfortunately.
As for nahackyi, I personally don’t mind this wrasse (It’s not number 1 on my wrasses but it’s up there in the top 20 at least). Certainly in my top 10 Cirrhilabrus species, maybe not my top 5 though.

Not the greatest photo, but here's my nahackyi and johnsoni together. My johnsoni had just flashed at my nahackyi.

My not so dull wrasse came out again for mysis

He may have an extended time in observation as I may have an impending crash in the DT. Lost my bimac and possibly 4 female lyretails overnight. Male lyrtail on the ropes. CBB hovering in one place. Geni’s, vivien and chrysus appear unaffected. Not sure what the f@#k happened. So much for being careful

I don’t know how I get so unlucky but also lucky at the same time. I see some rare fish but when I do, a lot of the time they’re just bland, I don’t understand how you guys get so lucky.

I mean sometimes they can do that. Sometimes you see them until noon but they’ve been out without you knowing. I wouldn’t worry about it unless it is getting skinny or refusing to free swim.

My black leopard is the same way. Some days he's up at 7am when the lights come on, some days he sleeps in until noon. Some days he doesn't get up at all! Well fed and fat so I don't sweat it if I don't see him for a couple days.

Ok now I understand not sure I will ever find either of those at my local store.... I will keep everyone update once I figure this out.

My Chloropterus is starting to be a pain with sleeping, sometimes he’s up way before the lights are even on (5-6am), then other times he isn’t up until about 2-3pm and sometimes he’ll just not wake up for about 2-3 days in a row.
