The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Awesome!

What are other peoples holy grail wrasse?

For me an Anampses or Macropharyngodon were my first though but I think right now I'd love to a have a full male Coris gaimard even with the chaos it'd bring. Being pretty boring maybe.
Well…
Mines more of a wish list instead of a holy grail list haha.
Mine goes on for a while so I’ll give the first ten, and in no particular order, here you go;
Anampses chrycosephalus (Female)
Anampses femininus (Female)
Cirrhilabrus nahackyi (Male)
Cirrhilabrus wakanda (Male or Female)
Cirrhilabrus lanceolatus (Male or Female)
Cirrhilabrus blatteus (Male or Female)
Cirrhilabrus roseafascia (Male or Female)
Coris hewetti (Male or Female)
Coris caudomacula (Male or Female)
Coris venusta (Male or Female)
And for a sneaky 11th;
Labroides phthirophagus

As I said… It’s a wish list but they’re still holy grails. It’s just, will I ever see these guys make it to the west? Probably not, I’m willing to risk it though ;)
If we were talking about Wrasses that are potentially possible to get, that list would drastically change with maybe 5-6 that remain the same (Venusta, Caudomacula, Hewetti, Nahackyi and Roseafascia)

Bruh……..;)

monty python i fart in your general direction GIF

Our splendid leopard is eating nearly everything we give it now. Staying out for the full day now also. Can't believe we made this work. Hard to get a good picture though.

If we wanted other leopards such as a Fiji, can you add those with a splendid?

Leopards are good eater once they settle in and adapted to captivity. Fauna is good when you are trying to get them adapted but not essential. More Leopards are OK but that Splendid Leopard can be mean, especially the male ones.

I didn’t know how much you loved them when I had a chance for a pair of Roseafacia

I’ve had the chance to get a couple but been ignoring them as they can be boisterous.

Hey all looking to see if I can add these to my existing exquisite wrasse and mcckoskers flasher:

Yellow Corris
Melanarus
Leopard Blue Star

All 3 will be added at the same time. The Mcckoskers and Exquisite have only been in the tank for about a month.

What’s the tank size and footprint ? Want to get this out of the way first so I don’t say anything that later is controversial to what I say lol.

90 gallon, 36x24x24
Thx.

I wouldn’t add a H. melanarus to that sized tank as they get really aggressive towards wrasse counterparts. The H. chrysus or the leuxocanthus you’re thinking about is a much better candidate, and would most likely be bullied too much by melanarus. Aggression towards the fairy wrasses is unlikely. The M. bipartitus is also a less likely aggressor and since it would be constantly looking for pods having the melanarus plus the chrysus or the leuxocanthus would be troublesome as there would be large competition.

That is one cool looking wrasse, and one I have never seen before. Thank you.
Thanks! Glad you like it. I had never seen one before I purchased him 2 weeks ago.

Googleing images, is it red and yellow, with a purple hind end? Hard to tell under all the blue.
Here is a photo in white lighting

Wow, that stunning!
He is! I stared a thread tracking his progress in captivity as they very rarely seen in the hobby. Apparently they are super delicate and don't do well long term.
