The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

So......

Drove all that way for my choati, he couldn't find the fish! Not on the floor, not in any adjacent tanks, his 2 employees who worked monday(he wasn't in monday, but I did speak to him on friday and told him I was coming), one of whom he couldn't get a hold of, said she didn't sell it monday. I wasn't to pleased considering it was already payed for, and I drove 5 hours to get there.....

So after I said I guess just refund me, he said he was going to get more in next week, and would ship it to me free of charge for the problems. Ok agreed, as long as he'll give me the DOA policy, which of course he agreed to.

As we were walking around my wife mentioned we lost our pintail, he said he would order one for me, and throw in when he ships the choati. OK now I'm feeling better, and not quite so peeved. Then I saw an exquisite fairy. I used to have one, and would love to have another. I asked how much, and he said let me bag it up for free.

So needless to say, I drove 10 hours for an exquisite fairy. LOL

I will say michael at ny aquatics went above and beyond in my opinion to make this right. while I could be happier(coming home with a choati, and exquisite(I was going to buy it anyways), instead of a free exquisite), I think I would buy from their again, and am pleased with how things transpired.

Pics of the exquisite tomorrow when the lights come on.
Well at least things worked out mostly. Nice of Michael to do that free exquisitus for ya. Hopefully hopefully they find and give you your choati. Worried they are shipping it? How on earth could they not find it? How exactly did they look for it?

Thats not my photo, but a photo from the web that looks similar to the one in my acclimation box.
Lol ahh yes. Good ol’ LA…….lol

Very little sand in the tank, and I watched as he sifted his hands through it, and the 2 other adjacent tanks. They were just 20G tanks with about 2 inches of sand in them.

I'm a little worried about shipping too(kind of why I drove there. LOL ), but as long as he honors his DOA, I'm ok with it.

So he only went through 3 tanks……is it possible that maybe it jumped or squeezed into further tanks or was moved for some ‘purpose’ into another tank on Monday?

Mines difficult to photograph due to my blue background and lights and because he never sits still but he is one of my favorite fish. Also an African!

Reminds me of that octopus that would visit other tank, have a feast of fish, and then sneak back

My two chaoti are always out as well. They eat pellets too.
have Micheal ship it with a small batch of sand in the bag. That way it can hide in the sand and have less stress

I then put in observation tank for a week with a lil sand and some rock. Kept the temp at 73-74 for 3 days, then moved it up to 75 for last few days. Food Started with pods. Then live blackworms. Then on day 4 I did frozen and live black worms mix.
I also had a lennardi in with the 2 choati.
After about 7-8 days and them time acclimated(no lights) just ambient room lighting, I put them in a large 24”x8x8 acclimation box In the DT. Handful of sand on one side of the box. Then after about 7 days of spot feeding frozen, I released them. All is well after 3 months

It could only have been in one of these three. If it was in another, it was probably on the floor. Like I said though, He couldn't get a hold of the other employee who worked on monday, so wasn't sure exactly what happened to the fish. I believe he made it right with me. So other then a little peeved about the drive in a winter storm, I'm OK.

Hopefully I see a choati in the mail in a couple weeks.
