Magic wrasse dust
Naoko’s don’t outright kill shrimp without a reason. If the shrimp is already dead then yes the naoko will be opportunistic and feed on the dead body of the shrimp. My naoko’s wrasse isn’t getting much love from me today. He was small. My cleaner shrimp was large. They’ve been getting along for a couple of months but I think the shrimp is gone. Ugh. Fire shrimp still alive though.
I have been asking this question as well.... That's why I have no pictures to post,How do you guys get such good pics? I took 20 and these are the best I could get.
Ok where can I buy this? I need all the help I can get.Magic wrasse dust
I loved my pink streak but I like taking an opportunity to get something new. I’m not a big fan of assessors but the Helfrichs has been high on my list for a whileDon't want to do Pink Streaked again?
They look good to me. Sometimes taking a video then going frame by frame you can get a decent pictureHow do you guys get such good pics? I took 20 and these are the best I could get.
Still no cleaner. Here's a mug shot of the killer acting all innocent.Naoko’s don’t outright kill shrimp without a reason. If the shrimp is already dead then yes the naoko will be opportunistic and feed on the dead body of the shrimp.
The only shrimp I’ve seen my naoko kill was a Peppermint that was rather often all over him.
Are you certain it was the wrasse and not the age of the shrimp or something else in the tank?Still no cleaner. Here's a mug shot of the killer acting all innocent.

Definitely not certain. Wouldn't want to disparage the wrasse without proof. The only other suspect is the Orchid Dottyback but the shrimp and the orchid have co-existed for close to a year iirc. Could be age, it was a big shrimp so maybe .... it just got old. My tank is in-wall so I can see all 4 sides and he's definitely not hiding in his usual spots. Are you certain it was the wrasse and not the age of the shrimp or something else in the tank?
It’s not usual for a Fairy Wrasse to go for a Shrimp without reason.
If the shrimp was 3” then I’d say that’s old age - Cleaners generally live 3 years and not much longer. I’ve just lost my cleaner recently due to old age unfortunately (I had him for a full 3 years).Definitely not certain. Wouldn't want to disparage the wrasse without proof. It's amazing how the wrasse went from being so shy when introduced to being all over the place and coming up tot he surface for feeding.
Wrasse>shrimp. One of the tenants of this thread.Definitely not certain. Wouldn't want to disparage the wrasse without proof. Yours had a cane though. Clear cut.If the shrimp was 3” then I’d say that’s old age - Cleaners generally live 3 years and not much longer. I’ve just lost my cleaner recently due to old age unfortunately (I had him for a full 3 years).
