I can't Think, When you added you're 3 pink streaked where there any issues? was there a reason for 3? I lost mine the other morning and was looking to replace it , I am thinking of possibly adding 2?
I actually haven't had any issues with the trio so far. They hang around eachother and when it comes to hierarchy they literally swim up, stare at eachother and then swim back down.

It’s usually recommended to do trios with wrasses however these guys are one of the species would do in pairs. I simply chose a trio because this is a species I love and it holds a special place in my heart along with Wetmorella tanakai.

My other reason for picking a trio is because I wanted this tank to be more like a natural reef. With the fish being how you would see them in the wild. These guys are found in small groups of 3-5 among the stony coral so I went with a trip to see how they would behave. This is a similar reason as to why I want a pair of Wetmorella tanakai (Although I am slowly falling in love with Wetmorella nigropinnata).

It’s sad to hear you lost your one however I’m sure he lived a nice life!!

One warning though, this is a genus that are a nightmare to get past shipping stress and then also get past the aggression from current tankmates. If you can then I would try to use an acclimation box if you have any aggressive inhabitants (I.E. Blennies, Clowns/Damsels).

Thank you for the feed. back got very lucky with first one O got from LA I am holding out hopefully my LFS can find one for me. Besides other wrasses there is one blue/green Chromis and Azure, Also my small Blue tang.

Once I found out about them I find them to be a very beautiful fish, plus the benefits they provide as well.

Thanks again for all the info

I just got my pink-steaked from them a few weeks ago. He/she arrived in good condition and started eating right away.

I think I got mine from them. Healthy. They are not quarantined.
I personally prefer not having a QTed pink streak as I find they are weakened by it.
Thank you Salt T, I ordered 2 today.... Shipping next week.
Photos are a must when they arrive!! It’s so fun to see more people getting these guys. They’re exactly like the sixline but more secretive and peaceful. I just wish they enjoyed photography.

they are pretty cool looking, and if my tank wasn't so active with larger fish, I might consider one. From what I can gather though, they are similar to the wetmorella species in being somewhat cryptic. Something that would more then likely die in my active tank.

Besides I have just enough room for 1 more fish, and that spot is reserved for a chaoti.......one of these days. LOL

They are similar to Wetmorella in terms of care, however in terms of once they’re established they act differently to Wetmorella as the Wetmorella species tend to always be cryptic even when established but when these guys are established they’re much more out and about.

Yes they are very cool, these 2 a for a replacement to one I lost a few days ago. After watching I Can't Think. get 3 of them, I started thinking ( Very Dangerous and expensive for me). getting more than one, this might be fun.... Like you these are my final additions.. Hopefully for awhile.

If you can Find a Choati, get it, they are so cool to watch, I got lucky at my LFS a fews weeks a go. I picked it up, a nd been a great addition to tank. .

I’ve been seeing some extremely interesting behaviour because whilst my three have staring contests, one will gain these beautiful white lines. So I wonder if this is how we can identify a male from females. If only they allowed me to take a photo of them doing this.

That is pretty interesting....to share that about them. I can wait until next week when my 2 show up.

Well folks, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a yellow tail tamarin wrasse (pic just because - they're so flippin' pretty). Now just waiting while Dr. Reef does his thing. I cannot express how hard it's going to be to wait on this one - looking forward to that "acquired and in QT" email, lol. I'll definitely post pics when it arrives, probably a month or more but I'm sure it'll be worth it. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Dang… If only I wasn’t waiting for that one Hawaiian wrasse to become available I’d be on the wagon to grab a Meleagrides.

Well, for those interested in the torpedo wrasse (Pseudocoris yamashiroi), I found it dead today. No idea why, it ate well, wasn't skinny, no signs of distress, disease, or being picked on. It hid all day yesterday, and I just found it dead on the bottom behind all the rockwork.

Once I get it out in a bit, I'll open it up and see if I can figure out what happened. I have a theory it involved collection using a certain chemical... gonna check out the liver, and see if I can even make out the kidneys without a magnifying glass.

That’s a shame to hear, hopefully you find out why when opening her up.
Is it potentially due to her being too active and hitting something causing a spinal injury?

I figure she either broke her spine on something darting around or into the substrate or she was cyanide collected. Either way, I should find out with the necropsy.

I've had 3 fish recently that all died (in separate quarantine setups) within 30 days of purchase that all showed classic signs of cyanide collection both pre and post mortem. She didn't show those signs, and was at the LFS for a couple weeks before I got her, and I've had her about 5 weeks.
