The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

I currently house:

Yellow corris(Halichoeres chrysus)
Pintail Fairy(Cirrhilabrus isosceles)
Melagris leopard(Macropharyngodon meleagris)
Moyers Leopard(Macropharyngodon moyeri)
Black leopard(Macropharyngodon Negrosensis)

I so want a choati, and still have the room, just can't/won't spend the money for one.

Added the latin names just for @i cant think :D

If we’re being really picky, scientific names should be in italics ;)
But I’m not that picky!

Unimpressed Uh Huh GIF

Jk thought to be really picky many of those names are in fact Greek and often times both Greek and Latin together.

M. Choati

My personal favorite, and the only one I've never owned in the family.

If I trusted LA, $299 is a decent price.
I don’t trust LA lol. And 299 is too steep for that guy. I’ve got TSA selling them for $130!

TSA = Top Shelf Aquatics? If it's $130, I'm jumping on that! I don't see it listed?
Top Shelf Aquatics? Yes! Now do you want me to burst your bubble? $130 was the price I was offered by a friend there a few months ago. While I was writing this I was calling TSA and the price they gave me was $350 :confused:what the heck!

Most of their fish don’t go on their site idk why. You want to see everything really the only way is in store unfortunately.

Bubble officially busted! I just said to my wife "if they have a choati for $130 I'm buying it for x-mas!". But alas I won't pay over $200 for any fish.

Lubbocki in 9th place. Not sure how @i cant think thinks of that lol.

I’m soooo sorry. I feel bad now. I guess you could tell her you saved spending $130? But I want to help! So I’ll be on the look out for one under $200 dollars for you.:)

Now Johnsoni taking the 8th spot I am really surprised about. Particular reasoning why?

#1 on my list of fish I would like to add is Paracheilinus hemitaeniatus. I've been unsuccessful in finding one for a couple years. One of my top 5.

I can understand not paying over 200 - although there are a couple of fish I’d break the bank for (generally I try and stick to fish that are in the double digits or just barely past 100). Some of the wrasses I’d break the bank for are;
Femininus tamarin
Choati leopard
Nahackyi fairy
Bathyphilus fairy
Shutmani fairy
Atavai pencil
Crux pencil
Pyreus pencil
