The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

I can understand not paying over 200 - although there are a couple of fish I’d break the bank for (generally I try and stick to fish that are in the double digits or just barely past 100).
Dang. And I’m here looking for a $1200 wrasse :face-without-mouth::crying-face::face-with-tears-of-joy:

Wait what?

NO ONE TOLD ME THEY WERE THAT EXPENSIVE!
Yeah if I could afford a Rhomboid I'd get one but thus the exquisitus.

I’ve been digging through photos I got these past 3 years (specifically hunting for ones of my Genicanthus) and came across these two. I still need to get a photo of my Indonesian in display but here’s what the Cebu looks like when in full display :)

I’ll be looking for the Indonesian variant. They color up better IMO, but that Cebu looks really nice.

#1 on my list of fish I would like to add is Paracheilinus hemitaeniatus. I've been unsuccessful in finding one for a couple years. One of my top 5.
Do you have any pictures of the ones on my list other than the Johnsoni? Keen to look at them through “in person” photos rather than whatever is found on the internt. That Lennardi is FIRE btw.

I have Nahackyi, Johnsoni, Attenuatus, Negrosensis, and Melasmapomas pics all over my thread if you're interested in seeing more photos of some of the wrasses on your list.

I really do like your fish btw lol. Any pics?
My cheap, common wrasses you mean? :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: (With the exception of one which is my most expensive fish. You'll never guess which.)
Note:
  • The cleaner is much prettier but refuses to sit still for photos.
  • The melanarus and gaimard are old photos as they were asleep already

I like the Lennardi and would like to keep one but they get a big for my tank don’t they? Is it true they require the low temps?
Yes, they come from Western Australia and prefer cooler temps. My systems is currently 75-76, likely warmer than ideal, and that's certainly a consideration.

Here's a picture of the Nahackyi in the system. The picture of the specimen you posted is incredible.

How well does he do? I saw in your thread when you added him but i don’t know much about him health wise.

I’m guessing the Cleaner Wrasse.

In my earlier thread posts I also have pics of my female rhomboid. I highly recommend getting a female over a male it'll save you money and she will transition to male anyway ;)

I’ll get a female then :). It’ll help me be patient too lol.

New to the system, so no longer term report. Is doing as well as could be possibly expected so far.

I added a new video to the build thread from this morning (I'll post it here too).

He's learned to take freeze dried mysis from the automatic feeder. Continues to eat frozen aggressively and will take pellets too. Seems happy, actively browsing the rocks and sand, no compatibility issues with any of the other fish in the system. A healthy happy fish so far.
