What are your other 5?

The ones listed should get along fine with each other. An acclimation box is the biggest thing to use when introducing new wrasses to an already established group. Lets them figure out the pecking order pretty quickly.

I admittingly had to look up the hardwicke, had never heard of one.

As for will reuppellii get along, that depends entirely on the behaviour of that specimen and your hardwicke.

If I’m honest it looks as though you’ve gotten the sister species to rubrisquamis - Finifenmaa. And finifenmaa seem to be overall more peaceful than rubriquamis.

Rubriquamis is collected rather regularly and in fact Finifenmaa is the rarer of the two over here. The way I personally tell if it’s a finifenmaa is due to the yellow in the dorsal fin, rubriquamis doesn’t have that yellow in the dorsal and instead it’s a rather more clear fin with just the purple tint.

Tried my best to get some better pics - this guy is FAST and always on the move! (Please excuse the insane amount of gha in the background, I'm in the midst of an epic battle with it, lol). To the naked eye he is mostly bright red (the scales towards his head seem to get dark purple outlines if he's stressed - like when one of my dogs put his nose up to the tank and scared him)... but overall he's red a little more than half his body, fading to a peachy color. Fins are purple, with a very thin bluish line along the edge of the tail and anal fin. The dorsal fin is mostly red fading to purple, and I'm just not seeing that intense orange hue from the pics of c. finifenmaa I've looked at. Possibly a slight orangish hue... Maybe it's just not fully mature yet and not fully colored up? He must be getting more comfortable because he was almost all red and purple when I got him, but now I do see some of that peach color on his body. Would really like to know for sure which one he is but it's not the end of the world if it can't be determined - I'm just glad I picked him up when I found him, because he's become one of my favorite fish and adds that bright flash of red that I miss from my flamehawk. He is so comical - sneaks through caves in the rockwork and stares me down with his googly eyes, lol! :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes: BTW - if I were to add another fairy wrasse in the future, or a flasher, which would be compatible?

Pass on it. It will be highly aggressive towards your other wrasses once established. It will also devour your CUC. Your hardwicke will eventually do the same.

Well, here she is, every day I’m getting a slightly better photo :)
She loves the back wall, her colours are incredibly unique as she can camouflage incredibly well into the back wall and rocks.

Hi guys, how bad are Leopard Wrasse with shipping? It's my first preference, but I want to get one that has already been QTd and shipping is my only option. Otherwise, a Halichoeres marginitus is my other option, but I'm afraid it will eat my crabs and inverts.

I also plan to add another wrasse in the future. This is in a 100gal. Thanks!

Not the best. They suffer greatly from shipping and don’t tend to recover quickly enough when they are sold and end up perishing because of that.

Depends on the leopard.

I have found that the Orante, blue star, and melagris ship fairly well, the others in the family, not so much.

Yeah, I've been warned about the hardwicke. So far I feed pretty heavy, and he's left everyone alone, but I'm prepared for him to get peckish on my smaller crabs and snails.

edit: Thanks, @SaltyT that's kind of what I was thinking, especially with the size of the quinquevittatum. Was definitely larger than my 5.

A leopard wrasse that has been conditioned to captivity through the QT process will be a healthier specimen and will be able to handle shipping better.

Beautiful fish. They had just gotten a shipment in yesterday, I don't know how long they had been in the store, so I'll check out the wrasse again in a week or so.

I received a butterfly last week and it showed up on it within the first day. Looks terrible, but is active and eating.
