The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Sea Grass Wrasses have always been on my look out for list, their personalities are unmatched. Unfortunately I couldn’t find one so I went for the second best thing I could - a Jade. 4 years later I’ve only seen one sea grass wrasse.
Thats unfortunate. I've only seen one in person but WWC over here sells them online.
Also I love that regal’s misbar head markings.
Yes! She's beautiful. I said on the angel thread but I noticed it no longer has any scaring. So glad it recovered from whatever its previous owner did to it!

He’s got some nice girth on him
All the meanies eat voraciously
Food Nom GIF by Monterey Bay Aquarium

He doesn't look like any of the other photos of a ruby-headed fairy. Do they usually have white bellies?

POTM right here!

No joke you could use this as an entry
You think I could win “your oldest coral” with this photo? ;) :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

In all honesty I desperately need a fish category for POTM. I’m getting killed by all the people with actually cool corals.

I know right!
I’m still waiting for a store themed one…

Day two of the yellow coris being in the display and can’t see him. Popped out yesterday for about a minute but then went back into the sand. My Mccoskers tried to jump out earlier and has been hiding ever since, hope he didn’t hurt himself too bad. Hoping the tang didn’t spook him at all

I went through a very similar issues with My Radiant. Saw him a few seconds then nothing.... Then last Friday hwe was out. Still goes to bed early, but out and eating with no issues from my other wrasses, and and dawrf angel.

I honestly don't know what kind of "green" wrasse mine is. I only have a rough idea where it came from and that it enjoys sleeping in. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Nope, not this one. It's a sea foam green (let me try to find an image online). Closer to this one. I think I posted an image a few pages back (pretty sure @i cant think indicated it was a female).

Good to hear! I just hope it’s not another round of what happened to my red lined. That was a beautiful fish

Yep, that’s a juvenile/female Jade (Halichoeres chloropterus). One of my favourite wrasses due to how they change so drastically as they mature.

She is soooooo lazy! She sleeps in later than I do on the weekends, lol. I've only managed to catch her waking up and burrowing again once (she's very adept at stealth).

What's funny is that a lot of my wrasses (especially the jade wrasse) now eat seaweed along with the other tangs and angels. Not sure if they enjoy it as much but they seem to like being part of the "pack".

Now we’re talking! She’s a beauty - She doesn’t seem to be transitioning just yet as that green is a bit too bright. The facial markings IME don’t actually signify a male and instead once their head goes slightly more blue/purple they’re transitioning - you can see a bluer head in my transitioning male below. Also, the black spots you tend to see in females/juveniles start to fade as they age.

Here’s my big boy, I like to call him the green beast. Pretty ironic as he is my most peaceful wrasse so far - he’s even submissive to my iridis.

Any more picture of your "no longer green wrasse" (Halichoeres chloropterus)
It is hard to find a mature terminal male picture of this species. I would love to see a picture of your mature Male Green Wrasse.

Agreed! What a pretty fish.
I've been looking for a "green wrasse" that's not ugly, and this is by far my favorite
