It’s tough to get terminal males to adapt to captivity most don’t make it through the supply chain.

So I’ve been thinking of trying to squeeze one more wrasse into my 3 foot x 2 foot shallow reef. I have the Mealanurus and Red Velvet at the moment. I also have clowns(2), 2 bangaii, , an orange spotted Blenny and a Mandarin dragonet. Options? @i cant think @Slocke @OrionN ?
This the tank in question. It has a lot of rocks and such for hideyholes.

You can absolutely hold a few more wrasses, you should be alright with more boisterous Cirrhilabrus like lubbocki, naokoae, and condei. I wouldn’t personally do any Paracheilinus species however Halichoeres, Macropharyngodon, Xenojulis, and smaller Anampses should be fine. I would personally go for one or two of these (potentially even 3);

That list is a small group of species I think will do well, outside of that there are many more that will likely do well with your current two but I kept it to a mix of rare and common species that generally adapt well to captivity :)

Steve, a C. rhomboidalis would look awesome in your tank, as well as (or along with) H. iridis! Lots of choices. Good question for @i cant think @Slocke @SaltyT @Crabby48 , given your light spectrum with the ReefBreeders photon over all those torches and gonis, which of those wrasses would have their colors accentuated vs. muted? Are you running heavier whites mid-day?

The bathyphilus is a wimp just like the iscoceles IME.

I just got more photos showing the same fish under different lights. This dusky is beautiful in both lights. Shows how the lack of orange and yellow lights of most out LEDs affect the color of a fish though.

I run with 1% whites. I get a fair amount of natural light from a nearby window however.

Holy crap on the left. Is that white light?

Yeah pretty incredible right.
Without blues it’s more orange with blue stripes but in blue the blue just overpowers everything.
