The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Vivien!

Don’t know what I’d rather have… a Vivien again or a Kuiteri again.

Wow new wrasse lover/hater here and started reading the thread and then realized it’s 1400 pages. Holly wrasse Batman!

New wrasse owner. Fairy and yellow corris! Introduced at same time. In 54 gallon with a lot of rocks and holes. Love the colors and activity.

The fairy is the bully of the tank. He’s all over the yellow corris. I even saw it take a swipe at blue springiri and clowns.

Was really wanting to get some flashers wrasses in there but now question that thought.

Turns out your yellow (not a) coris wrasse is actually a leukoxanthus. Very nice wrasses you have!

you mean the lfs misidentified the fish. What!!

It appears your right. I don’t know how you picked that up with my horrible video.

Oh well I’ll now refer to it as a yellow wrasse formerly known as yellow Coris.

Thanks for identifying that.

Leucoxanthus isn't referred to as yellow Wrasse though silly! You can call it a leuco or, if you want the uncool common name, Lemon Meringue or Pink and Yellow.

Also, the (not a) coris is because even if it was a chrysus (misidentified as coris) it's not a coris, just a yellow wrasse or chrysus wrasse.

Oh darn it I like the uncool lemon meringue but I’ll never be able to spell meringue with out a dictionary.

I've got one too. They're cool critters.

Well, this guy was sat next to the Lineatus for the longest time. Annoyingly they split up just before I got the photo but here is the Laboutei , out and about quite happily today. And so far, all 5 wrasses that are awake have ignored him. He’s now up and with the other 5 just chilling.

I finally got round to editing them and removing some of the blues today!

Which one is this?

I still wonder that, I’ve narrowed her down to 2 species;
Pseudojuloides labrynthus or Pseudojuloides edwardi

While we’re on the subject of properly identifying my wrasses is this red one a fairy wrasse?
Are you able to get a slightly closer photo?
It’s a Cirrhilabrus species but the exact complex she’s from is difficult. I’d probably guess the Filamentosus complex just by the colouring and deeper body shape.

I’ll try to get better pic it almost has blue hue/striations on head and body. Hard to see but I get glimpses of them. And a dark spot near tail. Really not that pink hue more of burnt orange red
