I am currently cycling a new 215g sps donimated mixed reef tank that will eventually live up to its name, Dolmotopia 4.0 Wrasses Revenge. lol. While i dont currently have a ton of wrasse experience, the new tank is finally going to let me devote the time and consideration I have been wanting to for years. My question is regarding compatible non-wrasse fish species. I have done the whole tang thing in the past and have been thinking of maybe going with Angels of the genus Genicanthus. Everything was looking good in my reading until I stumbled upon mention that they may agressively out compete other planktivoresce.g. members of the wrasse genus (Paracheilinus. Does anyone have experience keeping members of both genus? Im already totally planning on having at least a couple flashers. Please tell me that i can also keep these beautiful angels. Thanks
Genicanthus will "swoop" towards other planktivores, usually nothing too bad, just making sure they get their first food choice. Flashers will just get out out of the way.

Currently have a Yellow Coris in DT. Looking to add some fairies now. Will a Rhomboid and Tricolor (Lubbocks) be OK with the yellow? Would they be OK in QT together?

Yes and yes, assuming the QT is at least 20g.

Really? Great. What size system? That's encouraging. Thanks for sharing your positive experience.

Tank is 72 x 24 x 21. The angel was just an active feeder. The larger fairy wrasses were not intimidated at all. Like TJ said the smaller flasher wrasses would just veer off to avoid the collision with Bertha

This is a video at feeding time. Most of the smaller wrasses stay out of the picture. The leopard, Vrolik's, Lineatus, Pink Margin aren't intimidated. The pyramids actually were the dominant fish at that time.

And the calm before the storm

Somehow I ended up a wrasseoholic. I have a melanurus, yellow coris, possum, mystery and solarensis in my reef. So far knock on wood, everyone is getting along, other than having my new clam in an acclimation box to keep the melanurus away.

Very nice! Love the lineatus, and that vrolik's doesn't look like anything is getting in his way. :)

It's real easy to do!

So, how well do kuteri clade leopard harems play among one another in reef tanks? Single species of about 3/4 fish all female to begin with. Anyone with long term success? Or do they suffer similar problems like cirrhilabrus and paracheilinus and all turn male after killing each other?

Leopards generally do better as harems in aquaria than most other reef safe wrasses, especially when added simultaneously and as young individuals. However, the kuiteri complex is the most aggressive. So as they mature issues may or may not arise.

That's what I'd figured but it never hurts to ask the experts :) I won't be getting m. kuiteri though as they're too similar to my h. melasmapomus which will definitely cause issues but looking to see if there's a slim chance of m. vivienae being imported for me :) ever since reading the RB articles by Lemon on them I've absolutely been in love with them!

Vivenae is less aggressive than kuiteri, they just aren't available very often.

Bell's Flasher are $40 on some sites I've seen in Australia and like $800+ here, if ever available.
