Got 4 of them. Definitely excessive but why the hell not...

I am happy to report that three of my Potter wrasse are swimming OK. I rearranged my work with very short notice to take 3 hrs off from 11:00 AM to take care of these wrasse. Took them home and tried my best to take care of them. Went back to work, feel that I will surely return tonight to removed at least one dead wrasse from my QT tank. I was in for a pleasant surprise. All three were swimming around.
I ordered 4 medium Potter and ended up with two medium females, one dead terminal male and one near dead terminal male. I am glad I was able to save, at least for now, three of the four. Below are pictures of the three wrasse. I hope the stressed they were under did not cause permanent damage to them.
Light is getting low, and I have evening appointment so I did not get to take better pictures. I was just too happy and wanted to share with everybody. It make me sad to see the dead wrasse. I don't think the water volume was enough for these active wrasse. I will document the amount of water when I get back to the office tomorrow.

Diver Dent is really too free with their "Terminal Phase Male". They called this a Terminal Phase Male Eightline Flasher Wrasse.

I know they are not out of the wood yet. I read that sometime these wrasse seem to do OK then died for no reason a day or two later.
My three wrasse stay out all day, then they went into the sand as the light is going out. Seem normal. I hope they will be fine.

Did you try getting them to eat at all?

My pair took almost a week to eat frozen.

I did not. The light is almost out by the time I got home today. I will try to feed them in the AM. There are a lots of pods in that QT system. There is a strain of Isopod that I got from the Bay of Corpus Christi that multiply like crazy and really do a number on the turf algae also. My QT system is full of these. In my main tank, the fairy and flasher wrasses eat them like candy. I am trying to grow them in the sump as food source for my wrasses.

Would you mind post pictures of your pair?
I think my large one is definitely a male, if not Terminal male, and the two smaller ones are females or juveniles.
I will get better pictures of them over the next few days. I would love to get nice pictures of them.
BTW, I got another China Wrasse, so I have two of these guys, from Petco also. They are also in the QT system.

Your Eightline is a beauty, even if not fully developed yet.
My Eightline is a female. I hope to see her transitioning to male and will try to take pictures every few weeks of this change.

I did not get a very good look at them yet that was a pic from the shop that had them if they come out today will try and grab some pics but from what I’ve seen it looks like they are transitioning already

Glad to hear at least 3 are doing well after surviving shipping.

Sometimes LA seems bent on filling a fish order even if it means sending larger fish than the ones specified in the order.
Last year I ordered a small female from them and received a 4-1/2" male. It was huge. Fortunately I had a friend that saw it and wanted it and offered a high end anemone in trade.
I also got another one a few months later that was more in line with the size I wanted.
Unfortunately it only survived 4 days in my quarantine tank, even though it was eating pods and small amounts of prepared food.

She is now chilling in my 29g QT for observation with liverock, chaeto, and pods. I will snap another picture tonight.

Here is a picture of my Flame I received yesterday thanks to Minh who contacted me early Saturday morning to let me know Live Aquaria had them back in stock, shortly after they sold out. She is now chilling in my 29g QT for observation with liverock, chaeto, and pods. I will snap another picture tonight.

I am always amazed at how small flashers are compared to fairies.

I may get one more flasher it should not be a problem. I could not let the eightline pass the price was a sweet 60$ I could not believe it he also had crescent tails for 25$ because I have the maybe crescent tail in qt i did not take one.

are c. earlei or claires available at all? or in prices that are more on par with other fish. (I.e. a couple hundred rather than 5-700)
