Funny how prices differ around the world.

I picked one up for the equivalent of $145 a bit over a month ago. The LFS did say prices have been going up, they were sold for $110 about 6 months ago. Likely because I'm much closer to Kenya than the US is.

Sadly, on the other hand a Rhomboid wrasse would set me back the equivalent of $485.

Wow! $145 would be awesome. I bought my Rhomboid for $350 about a year ago. I'm betting the wholesalers have a fraction of that in their cost and a lot of the mark up is indeed shipping(and of course demand/popularity)

My wrasses are up to the challenge! :D It is kind of surprising and cool how aggressively wrasses eat nori.

The smaller ones wait for pieces to be torn off by the tangs and bigger wrasses.

Sometimes I think they love it more than the tangs. My velvet and Katherine’s go totally crazy over it.

My cleaner wrasse hits nori even before the tangs do. Once the naso gets hold of it, she demolishes it...but yeah, the cleaner and the Melanurus do a number on it too.

Same here.....I feed Nori primarily for my Tang, Foxface and Angels, but all my wrasses it it as well.

The most prominent one in that video was P. rubricaudalis. I also have flavianalis and lineopunctatus with plans for a couple more

Excellent collection. I have all three of those on my list and especially the P. rubricaudalis, but hard to find. I assume they all play nice.

Is that an African variant Exquisitus?

Yeah, I lucked in to the rubricaudalis a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, I temporarily rehomed him during a move and he did not make it back to me. That one is also back on my list....I like it even better than attenuatus. When I had all three there was never any squabbles.

The Exquisite was sold to me as a Maldives (LA). I have trouble telling them apart.

So I have an opportunity to restock my 58 gallon tank. Only fish that is in it now is a Citron Goby.

In the past I have attempted to keep wrasses but as we all know they are jumpers.

I'm thinking/hoping since I restock the tank starting with wrasse, maybe they won't be as prone to jumping?

What do you think?

Wrasses are jumpers. Period. No lid=no wrasses.
