I am sick today and have to stay at home, but not too sick for taken pictures. I wanted to take a few pictures to show how fat my Labouti Fairy wrasse is. I think I am successful with the following pictures. It is extremely difficult to take good picture of this guy that is for sure. He flash across the whole length of the tank in a second or so. I have to take picture of him right in front of me, or else there is too much distortion from the grass if I take picture at an oblique angle. A lot of pictures were taken in order to come up with the following. Enjoy.

Great pics! I picked up a 3 inch make melanarus Wrasse a month ago. It was a juvi at the store, I had a them hold it for me to see if turned male.... LOL! He did....! I will have to get a pic....he is fast though!

Here's my most recent find...LFS received three or four of these labeled as something else they'd ordered. I came up with Halichoeres timorensis female. Is that about right? And is there anything different about their care than with H. melanurus, which I also have in this system (300gal)?

Yup, H. timorensis female. They are pretty similar in care. A little more peaceful than melanurus.

Quick question guys, do you think mixing a Scott's Fairy, Lineatus, and Rhomboid will work? I currently have the Lineatus and Rhomboid in and they work out well, but wanted to add the Scott's as my last wrasse. Also have a Pink Margin that does get along with the Rhomboid M/F.

Scott's are a very aggressive fairy wrasse species. It will be aggressive to other fairy wrasses. They are also notorious for loosing color in captivity.

Definitely appreciate the feedback. Is it a definite on loosing color and being aggressive? Do they loose color because of improper husbandry?

It's pretty definite. And some of the best fish keepers I know have had them and they all lost color.

I never keep Scott fairy wrasse but if they are anything like other fairy wrasse then loosing color is social interaction related. Almost all the time they are single in aquarium.
I was able to keep my Bluethroat Fairy colorful by provide a mirror for a period of time daily. He was the only fairy wrasse in my 65 gal at the time.

I wonder if Scott’s Fairy Wrasse can regain/keep their colors if the keeper use mirror to stimulate him daily?

H. biocellatus, one of the Christmas wrasse (several species all have common name as Christmas wrasse). I got him about 2.5 months ago. Very beautiful wrasse with iridescent colors that does not always show in picture. IMO, he looks better in person. Way underrated wrasse IMO.
